Senior Project Manager

We are working with a large Utilities organisation ,who looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take a leading role in delivering major improvements to waste-water treatment infrastructure in London. This is a high‑impact position where you’ll guide complex projects from initial concept through to successful handover, shaping outcomes that directly support essential public services. In this role, you’ll lead multi‑disciplined teams, drive strategic decision‑making, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

What you’ll be doing

• Taking full accountability for projects throughout their life-cycle, ensuring robust governance and seamless transition into operational use
• Defining solutions that meet project objectives and preparing clear, compelling business cases
• Developing procurement strategies and overseeing the creation of specifications and contract documentation
• Creating strategies for securing third‑party consents and identifying associated risks
• Liaising effectively with planning authorities and key internal/external stakeholders to maintain momentum and ensure timely delivery
• Championing a strong Health & Safety culture, promoting zero incidents and zero harm
• Managing and assuring contractor performance to meet time, cost, and quality commitments
• Driving continuous improvement across the project portfolio and contributing to ambitious performance targets
• Leading commercial management of contracts to secure the best outcomes

What you’ll bring

• A relevant engineering degree (or similar) and chartered status, ideally supported by a postgraduate business or project management qualification
• Broad experience within the utilities or regulated infrastructure sector, with a track record of delivering major complex projects up to £100m
• Strong knowledge of contract specification, tendering, evaluation, and negotiation
• Confident risk‑based and analytical decision‑making skills
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities
• Strong experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams
